Top hidden features on Android you don’t know about

Presently, about 80% of the population uses android phone. But, the question to be thought about is how many of them do know all the features of it. Leave all, even half the features also we aren’t aware of and when it comes to usage we just use some basic features.

I assure that the features I am going to discuss will be known by only the 15-20% of the users.

Hidden features of Android not known by most of the users:

Run 2 apps simultaneously by splitting the screen into 2

This the new feature which comes with Android 7.0 Nougat. It is your choice as to which 2 apps you want to run. You can slip between 2 screens whether it is videos/ photos/ social media apps/ any other apps. The only disadvantage of this is that when you swipe between 2 games then it works a bit slow.

In order to split screen type the Overview button and select the app you want to use. Next, hold the icon and drag it to the top of the display. Once done, select another app in the similar way.

Transfer files quickly via Wi-Fi Direct

It has always been tedious transferring files between 2 devices as it is time taking. To save your time and send files instantly use Wi-Fi direct on your Android device. Wi-Fi Direct makes an internet connection between 2 devices and transfers files quickly. With time the size of files are also increasing, with Wi-Fi Direct you can even transfer files of 1GB in a minute. The rest depends on the speed of your data.

In order to use this feature, you got to install any application from Google Play Store that supports Wi-Fi Direct. Once it is installed then, you can share data freely. You will find many free versions of such apps, SuperBeam being the best of all.

Turn on Guest Mode

Most of us are too conscious before giving our cell phone to hands of anyone else. The reason for this being the person would have access to all our data. Android even has a solution to this; about which we aren’t aware of and it known as “Guest Mode”. Yes, you heard it right.

In order to turn on the Guest Mode, swipe down your screen using 2 fingers and click on the User icon on the top right corner. Over there, you will find the ADD Guest icon, click on that and choose what all functions the guest would be able to use on your phone.

Now, freely handover your phone to anyone!!

Reboot phone in safe mode

Phones with Android version Jelly-Bean and above come with the feature of rebooting Android in safe mode. The benefit of this is that while rebooting all the 3rd party applications of your device gets disabled which you can get back once the device is rebooted. This feature is useful for detecting which 3rd party application is causing trouble to your device.

In order to do so, long press the power button and then the option to power off.

Screen magnifier

By the name itself you will be able to guess what’s the use of this feature? This Android feature is like a boon for people who have poor visibility. You can magnify any part of the screen and do your work.

In order to so Go to Settings> Accessibility> Magnification Gesture

Turn on the Magnification Gesture and now just zoom the part of the screen by tapping on it and have a clear view.

These are not just the end, there are many other hidden features of Android too which we do not use regularly or aren’t even aware of.

I’m really enjoying the design and layout of your site. It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more enjoyable for me to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a designer to create your theme? Outstanding work!|
